What We Work On Together

Every student comes in at a different point. Some have no idea what direction they want. Others have a few options and can’t choose. Here’s how I can help either way.

The Approach

Real Conversation, Not a Checklist

Every student I work with gets an actual conversation, not a worksheet and a pamphlet. I draw on career assessments, structured exercises, and years of experience in higher education and K–12 settings to help students get to answers that actually fit them.

The services below are the core areas I work in. Most clients end up touching on more than one of them depending on where they are and what they need.

Service 01

Career Exploration

A lot of students know they want to go to college but have no idea what they want to study. That’s completely normal and also completely fixable. Career exploration is about uncovering what you’re actually drawn to, what you’re good at, and what kind of work environment you’d do well in.

We get past the vague answers ("I like helping people") and land on something specific enough to act on.

  • Interest and values inventory
  • Identifying transferable strengths
  • Exploring careers you may not have thought about
  • Understanding what different jobs actually look like day to day
Service 02

College Major & Academic Planning

Once you have a direction, the next step is connecting it to an academic path. Choosing the right major from the start matters more than most people realize. Students who switch majors two or three times often end up spending an extra semester or two in school, and that adds up fast.

I help students and families make that call with some real thinking behind it.

  • Connecting career interests to specific majors
  • Understanding what different degrees actually lead to
  • Evaluating programs and college options
  • Building a realistic four-year academic plan
Service 03

Career Assessment Administration & Interpretation

Career assessments are a useful tool when someone actually explains what the results mean. I’m trained in administering and interpreting validated assessments, and I know how to turn them into real guidance rather than a list of job titles that leaves you more confused than when you started.

The assessment is a starting point for conversation, not a verdict.

  • Administration of validated career interest assessments
  • Plain-language interpretation of results
  • Connecting findings to specific majors and career paths
  • Follow-up coaching to put the results to use
Service 04

Goal Setting & Decision Support

Sometimes students know the options but can’t pull the trigger. It doesn’t help that every adult in your life has a strong opinion about what you should do. I give students a structured, low-pressure space to work through the decision in a way that makes sense to them.

  • Decision-making frameworks that actually work
  • Weighing short-term and long-term tradeoffs
  • Setting goals that are realistic and specific
  • Building confidence in your own judgment
